Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör records continued high growth in the number of transported trucks.
The strong growth in the number of transported trucks on the Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör route continues in 2018. The growth rate was high in 2017 where 428,000 trucks chose Scandlines Helsingborg-Helsingör, and the trend continues in the first months of 2018; weeks 10 and 11 saw an increase in the number of trucks of 8% compared to the same weeks last year.
“Our freight customers appreciate the precision, stability and the high service level that we offer to live up to our reputation as Öresund’s floating bridge. We also know that customers emphasise the fact that we offer the shortest route across Öresund and ensure savings of up to 50 kilometer in each direction. In addition to the environmental benefits, this also entails lower costs, less time driving and an opportunity for the driver to rest while sailing,” says Head of Freight, Peter Kesting, HH Ferries Group.
To accommodate the increasing demand, HH Ferries Group chose to expand capacity as of 1 December 2017 by increasing Hamlet’s number of departures. This has been well-received – not least by freight customers, who now have more departures to choose from around the clock due to Hamlet’s extended time table.
The combination of frequent departures around the clock and the very high reliability on the route contributes to making the Helsingborg-Helsingör route very attractive for an efficient freight industry.
“We have expanded capacity with 40,000 extra trucks per year, and our experience until now shows that the expansion was in high demand as the capacity expansion corresponds to the almost 10% growth that we have recorded for freight traffic for several weeks. We are fortunate enough to be geared to manage the increasing volume, and we do our best every day to give customers the right service experience on Öresund’s floating bridge,” says Peter Kesting.Read more
